The inspiration behind the project came from a collection of vintage and unloved yarns, remnants of projects, and forgotten yarns that I have been gathering, to give new life and a new purpose.
I discovered a huge range of beautiful yarns needing a new lease of life and, created this collection of bold, statement scarf necklaces from a mixture of pure wool, mohair, ribbon yarns, and manmade fibres and combined them with natural wooden beads and manmade adornments resulting a range of stunning accessories for everyday wear.
Eco-sustainability These materials were destined to be stored away in attics or worse, thrown away, and having been brought up to never waste anything, I felt compelled to rescue them. When I reviewed the entire bevy of yarns I had acquired, I was inspired by the variety of fibres and textures, which naturally led to a limited-edition collection of unique accessories.
Fusing techniques and materials I was spoilt for choice in terms of textures and colours and it has been such a pleasure to bring into being a completely new style of accessory into my product range.
I thoroughly enjoyed creating each piece, by combining my jewellery-making and knitting skills with such an assortment of materials was an exciting process for me, and I hope you enjoy the collection as much as I do.
