French inspiration for your Valentine’s card messages

It’s that time of year again, February the 14th is almost here, you’ve got the card and gift, maybe even planned a special celebration but now you just can’t find the right words to write in the card for your loved one. Tough gig!

I try to write original messages in my cards but as time passes it gets harder to avoid the usual phrases like “Happy Valentine’s Day” (or Joyeuse Saint Valentin), and I’m sure I’m not the only one who struggles with this.

It is argued that French is the most romantic language in the world, and having lived in France for more than ten years I can see why, there is passion in the language, the accent, and the pronunciations.

Take inspiration from my French counterparts and use one of these 14 romantic French phrases in your greeting card this Valentine’s Day, making your message unique, romantic, and heartfelt.

14 Romantic French Sayings

These phrases work equally well in the French or English version, so you could use either for your cards for Valentine’s Day, or even anniversary or wedding cards too.
