Spring is just around corner..honestly, no really

We had a glorious week of warmer, sunnier weather last week and this week we are forecast more snow and hard frosts but spring is really is only a few weeks away and I’m currently working on new products for the next season.

What are the key trends for Spring/Summer 2023?

It seems this season at least, I will be totally in fashion as designers across the globe are favouring “artisanship” handmade pieces with natural/sustainable materials and organic forms.

With sustainability in mind and the fact that we are all feeling the pinch in our wallets, it’s great to see that trends from last year are continuing into 2023 as well as some new ones being added, so with no further ado here are the accessory trends for Spring/Summer 2023.

Jewellery

Asymmetric earrings, Pearl jewellery, Chokers and Silver are still around for the next season, so if you have invested in these I’m sure you will be pleased to see they are still popular.

Multiple bracelets can be stacked up on one arm or symmetrical on both arms, but this season I have seen more cuffs and chunky bracelets.

Large cocktail rings are a great accessory to brighten up an outfit.

Key trends:

Knitwear

There is a definite boho vibe for knitwear this summer. Crochet and cobwebby knits feature a lot which are great as cover ups on the beach or during the evening, where you might see more metallic, off the shoulder knits and fringed/tassled knits for casual days.

Patterns & prints

Animal prints like snake/reptile and zebra and ombres are really trendy this season, and I have loads of ideas for new silk scarves. Some of my previous best selling designs have been based on animal prints and I may revive some of my older designs. Ombres are based on sunset/sunrise colours and are truly beautiful.

Floral prints are also really popular as are heart motifs, stripes and blurry prints (a bit like tie dye) and holiday-esque prints

Colours

The main colour trends for spring/summer 2023 include some of my favourites like purple and green:

  • Green
  • Red
  • Yellow
  • Cobalt blue
  • Pastel pink
  • Purple
  • Black
  • White
  • Magenta
  • Metallics

Key points to remember

The next season is going to full of bright colours, heart, floral & animal prints and bold jewellery, with boho and holiday themed styles.

Finishing flourishes of 3d flowers, tassels, fringes pompoms, oversized bows and glitter will add summery fun to accessories and outfits alike, accompanied by a huge handbag; great for us mums, I can swap my backpack full of stuff the kids need whenever we leave the house for a big handbag instead.

So what do you think of the trends for the next season? I’d love to hear from you in the comments below, or join me in the conversation on my social media channels.
