It is officially autumn

So I will be packing up my summer outfits and unpacking the autumn/winter clothes once again but I also like to update my look with some accessories for the season, so what are the key trends for this autumn/winter?

Jewellery

The trend for jewellery include: Asymmetric earrings or a single statement earring, the bigger and brighter the better. Necklaces are close to the neck, think chokers (but when buying think about your body shape and the neckline of your outfit) Playful and bright necklaces are still popular as are layered necklaces. Pearl necklaces are still trendy this season too. Multiple bracelets can be stacked up on one arm or symmetrical on both arms.

Rings can be worn on every finger, and the key trend is big and bold.

Matching jewellery sets are also back on trend as are brooches (yippee! I have some stashed away)

Hats

Hats are great not only for keeping out the chills but also for covering up bad hair days on the school pick up, or out and about.

This seasons trend are:

  • Berets
  • Baseball caps
  • Big hats
  • Hats with large brims
  • Beanies
  • Furry Hats (especially furry bucket hats!)
  • Balaclavas (not strictly a hat but it does count as headwear)

Scarves and ties

My favourite way to update my outfit, trends this year are:

  • Long knitted scarves (my knitting needles are in full production at the moment with lots of new styles on the way to the website soon.
  • Furry scarves
  • Silk scarves
  • Ties for women (think floral, bright metallic and leather)

So I’ll be breaking out my brooches from the jewellery box and unpacking my extensive scarf collection to update my look this autumn, but what accessory do you love most? and have lots of? Are you known for wearing a specific accessory?

What key trend will you be working this autumn/winter?

My next post will be covering the key colours for this season, and I have to say I’m loving the colours for this autumn/winter, they are totally my palette which suit my skintone and also some that would not!

I’d love to hear from you so please comment below, or join the conversation on my social media channels.

à bientôt
