Get Involved in October Rose 2025

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, however the campaign is not limited only to breast cancer, it also promotes awareness many other types of cancer too. Statistically everyone has been affected by cancer in some way, from personal experience or friends, family and colleagues.

Part of the campaign is to encourage people to self examine and also to have the recommended screening tests made available by health services.

There are a few free screening days taking place in the Creuse in October, here are details of the ones taking place in Gueret.

Race for Life, Think Pink, and Walk the Walk

When I lived in the UK, I supported the campaign in many ways over the years, as unfortunately my family has too been affected by cancer. In 2004 I participated in the Walk the Walk Marathon in London, which was an amazing experience with tens of thousands of other women walking the marathon course in our specially decorated bras.

Later in 2009 in I completed my first Race For Life 5k with my younger sister. I ended up doing this event again at a later date so I’m the proud owner of two Race For Life medals.

In 2012 I took part in the Think Pink campaign at my workplace, we held baking competitions, dressed up in pink, and set up up a boutique with proceeds funding the campaign.

10% Donated from selected items this October Rose

This year you can participate with me when you purchase items from the October Rose collection, 10% of the product price will be donated to La Ligue Contre La Cancer. (For purchases made between 1st and 31st October).

There are 30 products to choose from costing from 2,50€ to 25€.
